Tinting brick or stone

Making walls look more consistent and appealing
Walls with bricks of different colours or textures can look uneven or visually distracting. At Gladstone Pointing Limited, we use natural earth pigments to create a more consistent and authentic appearance across brick or stone surfaces.

We can match colours to suit your preference, covering the full natural range from white, yellow and ochre through to red, terracotta, brown and black.

Brick and stone tinting with natural earth pigments typically lasts 5–10 years, and often longer in sheltered areas. Unlike synthetic dyes or masonry paints, natural pigments soak into the surface and fade gradually and evenly over time. Synthetic dyes can lose individual colour components, which may leave masonry looking patchy or unnatural.

Most masonry paints also block breathability, trapping moisture inside the wall. This can lead to internal damp unless the entire painted area is regularly maintained. Natural earth pigments avoid this problem by allowing the masonry to breathe, making them a safer and more sympathetic choice for traditional buildings.

Gladstone Pointing Limited only uses natural earth pigments and will not use synthetic dyes.
