Birdbeak pointing (arts & crafts homes)
Nottingham and West Bridgford have many lovely 1900-1930 houses built in the art deco style. They either need flat conservation pointing (shown in the majority of images on this site) or birdbeak pointing (shown below)
Most Victorian and Edwardian homes were originally built with conservation-style pointing, which sits fairly flat to the face of the brick and allows the wall to breathe. For Arts and Crafts properties with wider joints, we also carry out bird‑beak pointing, and for early Victorian homes we can recreate traditional penny‑rolled joints to match the building’s original character.
